The Barnstable County Human Rights Advisory Commission (BCHRAC), (formerly known as the Barnstable County Human Rights Commission) actively promotes equal opportunity for all who live, work in, or visit our County, while recognizing that human rights issues continue to exist.
Three primary purposes of the Human Rights Advisory Commission are:
- Educating the Public about human rights
- Building Connections among communities and
- Assisting and Providing Information to resolve issues and concerns of potential human rights violations
The BCHRAC consists of a dedicated volunteer committee and a part-time coordinator. If a response is not received within 5 working days please contact the Human Rights Coordinator directly at 508-375-6611.
In the event of an emergency, please immediately contact your local police, or, as appropriate, Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), or Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
